Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.
Nine people were hurt while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and faced problems to water systems, according to city officials.
Simultaneously, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.
Moscow has intensified attacks on electrical systems over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.
"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, European nations and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing penalties," mentioned in a social media post.
Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty rockets struck energy facilities, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.
Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were striving to restore power.
A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.
Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, as confirmed by city authorities.
Area administrators said the urban area experienced intense attacks during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child died and three other people were injured.
The assaults succeed nights of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which remain under the control of Russian forces.
The entire country is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to identify.
Authorities told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already impacting fuel infrastructure.
